Installing Operating System without Disk Drive??? Need quick help

HI, I'm buying a laptop with NO disk drive and NO operating system. If you put the windows 7 install disk into a USB optical drive can it still boot from that and install it??? So can i just buy any usb disk drive, plug it in and install windows 7, or do you need an operating system for those usb disk drives to work in the first place

That's possible, however, it's easier (and cheaper) to use a flash drive...

Use an USB stick...

download an iso and use this for it: http://images2.store.microsoft.com/prod/clustera/framework/w7udt/1.0/en-us/Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe

buy a key

BTW, just formatting it to NTFS and copying all contents of ISO into its root there works on some mobos as well.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

It should work with any USB ODD but a USB flash drive will be faster. If you do choose to go the flash drive route use Universal USB Installer.
