Hello so I have a laptop Acer Predator Helios NEO 16 specs are

CPU: I5-13500HX

GPU: RTX4050

So until literally 3 days  days ago my laptop has been having amazing temps while I play games was hovering between 72-75 and now suddenly I'm reaching as high as 98 and the temps are jumping up and down even at idle. I changed the thermal paste but it had no effect. I can game normally for like 2 hours and then my fps start to drop aswell. What could be the issue here I'm scared for my laptop as a student it's all I have. Please if someone can help me and guide me it would be deeply appreciated.

new thermal paste

What did you use? Some popular thermal pastes like MX-4 do not work well on mobile CPUs. Order some Honeywell PTM 7950.

Are you undervolting? That can reduce temperatures. Post some ThrottleStop screenshots if you need help.

Okay I can repaste it with the thermal paste you have told me, and send throttle stop screenshots soon but why do I need to undervolt it was fine 3 days ago. If you can please do explain.

Some thermal pastes can fail very quickly when applied direct die to mobile CPUs. Letting other users know what did not work for you helps everyone avoid the issues that you are having.

Many users with unlocked HX processors get excellent results after making a few minor adjustments in ThrottleStop. If you were happy how your laptop was running before then replace the thermal paste. Everything should be as good as what it used to be.

All four vents are pushing out maximum amount of air but very hot air so can't say it's the fan. Is there anything g else that could be the issue since this suddenly started to happen.

Yeah as long as it's pushing hot air then your thermal stuff is fine, it's dissipating heat correctly. So it's not the paste nor the fans
