Hello all I just bought a custom cyber power rig (gpu prices) it has an intel core U7 265kf, 4070 super, 32 gb ddr5 (well had) today upon trying to stream I noticed that its only is showing 16gb of ram, I tried reseating and swapping slots and the same stick stayed with the LEDs not in sync with the rest of the system. So I assume the single stick is bad. But when I started streaming again after a little bit it was getting error messages from NVIDIA that the GPU was over loaded with terrible performance. My old 6700k, 16gb ram and 1080 I feel preformed better. Any thoughts would be helpful because I’m stumped. Thanks everyone

So you didnt try to find which stick was bad?

I had issues with RAM sticks where it would also break GPU drivers so i would absolutely try to find and then remove it, see what happens.

Yes I know which stick is bad, but it is still in the slot, would that be causing instability? I figured it didn’t matter if it’s not showing up as populated in the bios. Thank you!

You might as well eliminate it as a factor. Thats the way of PC hardware troubleshooting, if you see something going wrong and it is broken in some way, take it off and see what happens.

I'd just go back to the store and point out the fault, not just the memory but the GPU error msgs as well. Hopefully, they sort all that out. If they refuse for some reason, then you probably have to buy some memory and if the GPU errors continue, try to DDU and re-install the drivers. Also check if all the power cables are secure and properly plugged in.

I just tested each stick individually in both slots and yes it’s the stick that is bad. I’ve left it out of the pc and hopefully that fixes the gpu instability, thank you

Yeah test it for a bit first then report to me. Also read @okkee's suggestions.

I reached out to them last night, just waiting to hear back. I’ve checked all the cables they are all good, was just wondering if there was something I may have missed. Thank you!
