i currently have a ryzen 5 5600g with 32gb of mem at 3600mhz and a sapphire pulse rx6700xt,

I've been looking to upgrade to a 5800x3d and maybe a new 90 series AMD GPU possibly the 9070 or 60. Is the 5800x3d good enough for those kind of GPUs, and would it be a better deal to upgrade to an am5 system?

cooling is not an issue

The 5800X3D is quite expensive so we always recommend the 5700X3D instead, basically the same performance but cheaper.

The 5700X3D can easily handle the 9070 and 9070 XT at 1440p gaming.

If you already have an AM4 motherboard and 32GB of DDR4 RAM, stick with the 5700X3D.

Upgrading to AM5 is not worth it unless you go top end 7800X3D / 9800X3D.

Take away 4-8fps on the top end with a 5700X3D compared to a 5800X3D.  This is with a 4090 so you will be less CPU bound with a 9070 as well.

5700X3D vs 5800X3D.

If you're looking at new CPUs, I think the 5800X3D is EOL in most regions and priced for that rarity (i.e. overpriced).

If you're buying new, almost certainly, the 5700X3D, likely not.

For the most part: yes, but it depends on the resolution and the game you play.

in my area in the US i seem to see 5700x3d at the same or higher scalped price as the 5800x3d, and i do 3d modeling as a hobby and would like my 3d print files to slice faster as some of it can take a few mins. and occasionally crash during it, would the difference in cpu power between the two matter?

The difference in CPU power won't really matter for such tasks.  They are both 8 core 16 threaded CPU's.

The 5800X3D has a 400Mhz higher boost closk but in the real world that won't make too much of a difference, they are the same architecture with the same IPC.

If you can get a 5800X3D for the same price, get a 5800X3D.

The 5800x3d should be fine with an RX 9000 series GPU, and also, does seem like a good upgrade, from 6 core to 8 core with X3D cache (though a 5700x3d might be cheaper for similar performance?)
