Hello,

I use the NVIDIA app's performance tool for stable GPU results, but I recently installed MSI Afterburner to monitor and display performance stats while running MSFS2024.

Since installing Afterburner, I’ve noticed a significant FPS boost while loading a flight and parked at a gate. My GPU is now consistently maxed out at 100%, which I thought was great.

However, I also observed that my CPU usage is constantly high, ranging from 88% to 100%. Seeing both the CPU and GPU maxed out simultaneously has me a bit concerned. 😟

Before I installed MSI afterburner, my CPU and GPU never maxed out, in fac,t my GPU is at 70% to 80% and CPU is at 40% to 50%

So what I have done, fully removed MSI and rerun the  NVIDIA app's performance tool - I now need to open MSFS up and see if it works

100% usage on CPU and GPU is not a problem at all if temperatures are in check.

You WANT 100% GPU usage, this means you are getting everything the GPU has to give in terms of performance... This is the entire point of a GPU.

80-100% CPU usage is not a problem either if temperatures are good.

What components do you have?

i7 10700k with a RTX 3090 - with 64gb ram.

Point is I've never seen the system maxed out like this before. When I'm in MSFS, before it was not maxed out, now it is... Why now and not before, that's what I want to know?  CPU has now also even maxeed out to 100%

Clockspeed, package power and temp on the CPU while this is occurring? Are all your cores enabled?

That being said, that's a 10th gen chip on a properly CPU heavy title. Hopefully not 1080p?

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

Clock speeds are 4.8 - It can be OC'ed to 5.1, but since the BIOS update two months ago, I left it at 4.8, no problems till today.

Temps 43c at the time of looking,

Power set to high performance

So, in msfs 2020 CPU and GP are not maxed out - It's just 2024?????????

So good to know that in 2020 flight sim is good and MSFS 2024 is not

43c on the CPU under 100% load? Something isn't adding up.

Power as in package power in watts, available in HWiNFO's sensors screen.

What is your display resolution?

At 1440p, So loading into MSFS2024, the Power package is around 64w to 69w max and temps for CPU  43c to 47c (package even with my AIO running at full, 1300RPM on the fans
