Hey I've been trying to upgrade to windows 11 for a few months but secure boot has just been like impossible to turn on, would it be worth trying a fresh install of windows 10 to see if that fixes it? I don't know a lot about softwares or operation systems so any help with this would mean a lot

Secure boot is a BIOS parameter and should not be affected by Windows.

That said, if you switch Secure boot on or off, be ready to reinstall Windows. That parameter has a tendency to make Windows unbootable (even if you return the parameter to original value later).

If your question is about how to enable Secure Boot : In the BIOS you have an option to enable Secure Boot. You probably need to disable CSM compatibility boot (or similar phrasing) and enable TPM 2.0 for it to stick. You may need to consult your motherboard's manual if you still experience issue.

After Secure boot is correctly enabled, you can then install Windows 11. Remember to never deactivate secure boot or you risk bricking or corrupting your Windows installation.

Hope that helps.

P.S., your system specs may help too 🙂

I am using an ROG striix b550-f gaming motherboard (what a coincidence 😛 )and it is fully compatible with secure boot and Windows 11 without issues. I'm still using Windows 10 but II tried Win 11 before and it installs without fail.
