HI guys,

thinking about building a pc but not sure what parts and would like to hear different people's opinions.

My budget is around £400 or in $ is 600 and a bit. I am a mild gamer.

Thanks :)

This isn't for any hardcore gaming, and since it's FM2+ it's upgradeable (AM3 socket is pretty much dead)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor (£117.59 @ Aria PC)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H ATX FM2+ Motherboard (£54.87 @ Amazon UK)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory (£66.45 @ Amazon UK)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£35.94 @ Aria PC)

Case: BitFenix Shinobi ATX Mid Tower Case (£49.99 @ Aria PC)

Power Supply: Fractal Design Integra R2 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£40.20 @ Scan.co.uk)

Total: £365.04

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

That case is my personal choice (i personally like it), and if you don't like it, then you can chose another one :D

Also, that PSU would work great in the future if you want to put a dedicated GPU with a another FM2 CPU :D

You can also use this configuration with a dedicated GPU (it's more powerful than the APU solution)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 760K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor (£57.31 @ Scan.co.uk)

Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X Extreme4+ ATX FM2+ Motherboard (£54.20 @ Amazon UK)

Memory: AMD 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£64.56 @ Scan.co.uk)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£35.94 @ Aria PC)

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Dual-X Video Card (£129.00 @ Amazon UK)

Case: BitFenix Comrade ATX Mid Tower Case (£28.04 @ Aria PC)

Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£48.98 @ Dabs)

Total: £418.03

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

P.S. I would personally choose the second solution because i'm not a big fan of APU's, especially for gaming... And 270x does wonders at that price point :D
