Hello

So yesterday I downloaded the latest nvidia driver 572.42 for Avowed.

I experienced something weird when installing the driver.

Normally during installations you would get screen flashes like 2-3 times but instead my monitor refused to give back image.

The installation was complete because I stood there for another 5 minutes to be sure, it usually doesn't take more than 2-3 minutes in total.

So I had to force shutdown the PC from the power button, then got when I powered it on again everything seemed fine, I had image again

My question is - did the installation fuck up something ?

Should I try reinstalling again and select the CLEAN INSTALLATION option in Custom install ?

Use DDU to wipe the drivers and restart (start in safe mode then open DDU)

Have the nvidia drivers ready on the desktop to install

@Blasty Blosty

Sorry I didn't explain that properly in the first post.

I did use DDU the first time which was when I lost image and couldn't get it back until I force shutdown. 😄

I just wasn't sure if to perform a CLEAN INSTALLATION with the nvidia installer because I had that black screen and couldn't get back image until I force shutdown the PC.

Oh, then yeah 100% I would

Don't let any PC issues get worse, or you'll kick yourself later

It might fix it, just tick the box that says perform a clean installation

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");

I mean there wouldn't be any harm until waiting for the next driver right ?

If performance in games is good so far ?

No, you should be fine to wait 🙂
