Memory usage high

Go to solution Solved by terrytek,

Sorry haha Browser is what I meant  :P

Well, even if Firefox uses up so much RAM, it uses it in one setting, unlike Chrome, which has multiple processes, taking up RAM. I found out that Firefox actually uses less RAM than Chrome, even if FF says usage of over 1 gig.

PC specs:

Alieware M14X R1

Intel Core i5 2410M @2.30 GHz

Nvidea Geforce GT555M 1gb

6 gb RAM

Mobile HM67 chipset

Hi there! I am having a bit of an issue with my memory usage. I find that I am using about 40% of my RAM as I am writing this, Google Chrome is using a whopping 235,000 K!! I don't currently have anything else open but I will attach a picture of my Task Manager. Any Ideas? I just uninstalled BitDefender as it was using 175,000 K constantly. Thank You! post-83836-0-57601900-1401585939_thumb.p

Chrome hogs soo much ram. Firefox too, but just in one sitting. Chrome has multiple processes, hogging up ram.

It's now using 315 K :/ Any reccomendation on a new search engine. Will this effect my performance greatly? I love Chrome but if it's going to make my computer run terribly slow than I am willing to switch...

for me the current release of FF has been really unstable. It crashes about once every couple of hours which is a bit annoying. for some reason nightly is more stable than the full release.

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

Well I have found out that chrome uses a lot of ram by default, but be careful to not install to many plugins. I personally have 16GB ram and lots to go on but with my adblock on some sites (I turn it off on sites i support) Chrome takes about a whopping 2-3GB RAM in total!
This isn't to much when I have 16GB but still on a lower end computer this could be a problem. So be careful with installing a bunch of plugins and if you have low ram do not use adblock.
