Upgrading old system

Hello I was wondering what would be a worth while upgrade for my system. The problem i have been having is the ststem has been pretty mediocre and I tend to crash a bit since 8gb of vram isn't really that great. I am a dev that for work had to get in in LLM and run them locally. Other then that I like to game quite a bit. Any advice would be helpful.

 

Cpu: ryzen 9 5900x

Ram: ddr4 64gb

Gpu: evga rtx 3070 ti

Monitor: some lg 43inch 4k monitor I got from work (like it for the realestate when programing)

Just out of curiosity, what motherboard are you using?  That also may be something to consider.

Hunt for RTX 3090 on Ebay for 700-800 USD, and upgrade your PSU to 850-1000W.

whoops I forgot to mention GPU upgrades. What's your opinion on the rtx 50 series for LLM dev work?

So get a 4090 or 5090

 

If you don't know how to pick between the two, get the 5090
