I was originally planning to get an i5 4430 off amazon for $150. Sick deal right? Well, it went out of stock while I ate my dinner, right before I bought it. Now that it is at full price again, I have had two ideas floating in my mind.

IDEA #1 (original idea)- Buy an i5-4430 and a H97 mobo with awesome sauce parts and feel like a boss when I mash it with my HD 6870.

IDEA #2 (the other idea)- Buy an i3-4130 and a Z97 mobo  with awesome sauce parts and feel like a boss when I mash it with my HD 6870 AND use the money saved towards a Devils canyon CPU.

The first idea is on the verge of killing my budget, but it would be more powerful. The second idea would save me money and give me the peace of mind that I can upgrade and OC later on, but for the present, I wouldn't have much horsepower to play around with.

Also, I have other parts at home I will be pairing this with.

Which idea should I go with? Feel free to express your opinion as well.

Also, my budget is $600. The part lists, if you already haven't noticed, is hyper linked to idea 1 and idea 2.

If you want to do Idea 2 then get a Z97 mobo if you can because it will be guarunteed to work with the devil's canyon wheras Z87 is a bit unconfirmed as far as i know.

However I would either recommend just waiting until Devil's Canyon is released and then build a PC or go with an AMD 8350 or 8320 and a 990FX board

Go for the first idea, devils canyon is basically just better OCing haswell, so unless you intend to overclock and feel a desperate urge to get DC, go for the fist option. Otherwise, just save up a little bit more and get an i5 4670K

Why would you get an i3 with a Z97 board if you can't OC it?
