Budget (including currency): ~$5,000 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly single player games like Cyberpunk 2077, BG3, and RDR 2. Also some multiplayer games like Marvel Rivals.

Other details This will be a brand new build. I’ve already bought the CPU as it came in stock for a little bit. I only need a monitor for peripherals. I found one that seems to be the best 4k OLED right now, and added it to the list. I’m upgrading from a prebuilt PC that has an rtx 3070 and an I7-11700F. That computer is going to a friend, so I won’t use any parts from it. I’d like to buy this ASAP so I can put everything together besides the GPU and make sure it works. I’d like to play games at 4K resolution and at least 240hz.

I put together a list of what I think would be a great build for high end 4K gaming. I'm now looking for further suggestions to finalize everything. Any advice is appreciated! This is my first time building a PC so I hope I'm not missing anything. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!

I plan to replace the 2 front case fans with non-RGB fans, as well as get one for the rear exhaust.

Im pretty confident about every part of this build except the motherboard. I’m not sure if it’s overkill, and there’s just so many options it’s hard to know what’s best for me.

Simply put the 5090 can't natively do that. It can in some games but well expect that number to drop drastically and quickly in a year with new ones coming out. Same like the 4090 how that went from a 4K 120fps native card to just 60+. For longevity sake and not having to use aggressive upscaling things all the time I simply recommend a nice 27 inch 1440p oled as that it can nicely do and means you'll get great performance for far longer.

Board is fine btw bit more expensive than it needs to be but thats because it has wifi7.

As for overkill well yeah duhh. None of these games need a 5090 like at all :p.

Ok that’s great advice, thanks! 4k 240hz isn’t a requirement, it’s more a preference. I guess I just want the best performance available right now lol.

Then I'd just get a nice 1440p 27 inch. It will look better than running lower res on a 4K screen and means you can play anythig native which well looks heaps better honestly.
