Currently sharing with my wife what I still think to be a great little prebuilt I snagged for $850 with what is basically low-end/entry level components; i5-14400F (not able to be overclocked), 4060 8gb, 32gb DDR5 5500+ mHz and decent 2tb M.2 NVME SSD. All attached to an Asus B760M. 600W 80+ Gold PSU in a decent case with plenty of room for expansion

Especially if the power supply will not need upgraded.

Wishful thinking. I personally would put 750W especially if that 600W model is some no name thing that has barely any proper lab reviews. But beyond that the spec will be nicely slotted in at 1440p/4K target. Bump your budget to round 850 USD and we're looking at 5070Ti pricing which would be a nice upgrade. The other option you might wanna have a look at will be the 9070XT which will fit in your budget WITH the PSU. Rumors suggest it would slot between 5070 and 5070Ti in raw raster (the ability to just perform rendering the game without any assistance).

1. Budget & Location

Fairly open ended but for the first step which I will want to be the graphics card, under 800 ideally. Especially if the power supply will not need upgraded.

2. Aim

I want to be be able to game at 4k (maybe 1440p, but a much higher fps) without drops. Currently, the games I want to play are unplayable at 4k with my frame rate I'm getting and I mostly stick to 1440p medium or even low settings. Games like Tarkov, Reforger, Squad, Delt Force, Hell Divers, etc...they're taxing. I haven't messed around with DLSS primarily because the only gsme ive been playing is arm reforger and it doesnt support dls but i have used Steam's Lossless Scaling with some small success, but the input lag can be tough in stressful situations. 600W 80+ Gold PSU in a decent case with plenty of room for expansion (glass, but no swinging door). Plus, it came with Windows 11! My plan is GPU upgrade followed or accompanied by a PSU upgrade. Long term, the CPU can go, but I want more GPU capacity right now. My question is with 50 series cards coming out, what should I do? 4070ti, ti super, 4080 super, higher tier 30 series card?? Wait for 50 series? Let me know if I should provide any other stats I may have missed

3. Monitors

2, one 4k, 60fps monitor and one 1440p 144hz monitor

4. Peripherals

Nope but I did just buy a G502 (I have no need ever for a wireless mouse and I cable manage like a Greek god) and I cannot recommend it enough. Only complain is I want a larger butt on her, but thats it.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Just bought the thing and I already want to be able to run games better. And I rarely play single player games, eo frame rate is a must. My ideal path was GPU, PSU, CPU, maybe another 32gb pack of ram but probs not, and then Motherboard. I figure the B760M will do me just fine for now, but I also am not an expert on motherboards by any sort of the imagination.

Really looking forward to hearing constructive feedback from everyone!!! The 4060 is not the best card but for a lot of o what my wife plays it's so solid, even at 4k. But daddy needs horse power....could even consider....a new PC???👀👀👀
