I bought an RX 6700 XT a while back and have been gradually upgrading my PC. Recently i bought a Ryzen 7 5800X because i need the extra cores and it was the cheaper option than going am5, while also keeping me on the same platform before i got the money to upgrade since my old motherboard was an ASUS PRIME A320M-K. I looked into a few new parts and i want to see if they are generally good for the set up i have.

New Motherboard: ASROCK B550 PHANTOM GAMING 4

New RAM: Kingston DDR4 16GB 3200M/s KF432C16BB1/16P

New Case: Endorfy Signum 300 Core EY2A004

i generally want to know if this upgrade is fine. In general the part prices for me are good from the main retailer i can get the items from. Thank you in advance for any and all advice!

return the 5800x and get a 5700x3d instead, much faster chip for gaming an especially for sims rts even online shooters basically anything that benifits from fast ram + tons of cache and you wont be limited by the a320 when you can only oc via bclk anyways and no mobo upgrade is uneccesary and pointless especially with an x3d

rams wise if only 16gb just stick with your current ram and tune to 3200-3800, all ddr4 should do atleast 3200 unless you have something ancient like micron 8gbit rev a, heck even garbage 8gbit mfr can still hit 3200

case wise thats completely up to personal preference but i advise spending on stuff that benifits performance first before aesthetics

At best a sidegrade, both VRM on those board are still terrible. Save your money and buy those tack on heatsinks for raspberry pi and 92mm fans if youre concerned about power throttling.

i dont think only changing the board and ram will significantly change your machines performance

It's not much about performance just kind of necessity due to my old case being too small for the new cpu cooler and needing the general extra slots for ram as well as needing to reuse the old mobo

What country? MSRP puts 5700X3D and 5800X quite close in pricing.

If so just buy first hit on B450 board with enough USB ports. You'll be surprised at how many good deals there are for that chipset especially on used market, and all youll be missed out on is latest RGB plug support, and Pcie 4 which for most GPU out there right now, you wont saturate. The only one that could saturate pcie 3 for even a moment is 4090.

In serbia i checked an app which shows me all available sellers in there and no 5700x3d is available at all.

Any specific recommendations for a b450 that i can check out? The main thing i like here is the 2 m.2 slots the reinfornced gpu slot the 4 slots for ram and that's abt all i care for.

B450 Steel legend by Asrock ticks all that box one and done. Other good picks you gotta eye on is B450 Aorus line from Gigabyte, B450 Mortar by MSI, and B450-F by Asus. Also ideally besides reinforced slot youll want actual anti sag solution. That metal framing can only go so far in reality.
