I bought a 3D printer with a buddy of mine a few years ago. I have had nothing but issues with it and getting the first layer to adhere properly. I've tried messing with the temperature, leveling, cleaning the print bed, first layer print speed, and just recently tried glue. Nothing I have used is working and I'm frustrated because my friend just hits print and his stuff works. If you guys have any tips please let me know.

For reference, I print with PLA on an ender3 S1

So the guy uses the same printer and everything works for him? Also, what kind of plate you guys are using?

Try checking your slicer profile to make sure there are no z-offset overrides in the filament/printer settings. Get a model like this, print it and upload the results here - if you are positive that you did everything right it's better for us to take a closer look instead of suggesting doing it all again 😁

Also just in case, I've posted a long guide on buildplate care tips in a different thread, take a look at my post history. Might be useful.
