Budget (including currency): up to 2000Euro

Country: Lithuania

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly for games, Warframe, Naraka, But also new more demanding games

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Helping a friend build a pc. Current monitor 1080p, looking to upgrade to 1440p couple months after building the pc. Kind of stuck on what gpu to buy as new gpu's are coming out I naturally told my friend to wait until they hit the market as prices in lithuania are ridiculous. I checked the 2nd hand market and its pretty much as dead as it can get. He is kinda paranoid with 4080 super only having 16gb of VRAM and considering to buy AMD7900 xtx as it has 24 gb of VRAM and is a little bit cheaper. But at the same time he did say he want's to try out the RT features and looking at new games coming out it starting to seem like it will become almost a mandatory thing in near future and looking at all the benchmarks Nvidia clears amd whenever RT and FSR vs DLSS comes into play. Not sure if he is fine to just build one right now or wait until 50 series hit the stores and hope that 40 series price drops since Nvidia is discontinuing them. Anyone been in the situation of build now or hope for price drop?

Get them a 7800 xt and a x3d cpu, or try to fit a 7900xtx into their build, or wait for the 5070 Ti and hope it's not scalped.

I would wait until 5090 releases, so you can buy a used 4090 for cheaper, which is not that much worse

Yeah that was the initial plan but looking at the 2nd hand market there its so empty that there is little hope that there will be any of them for a reasonable price.

Well I 100% wouldn't buy the 5080 because of the attrocious amount of VRAM, so you can try to get either a 5090, or try to find a refurbished 4090 if any reputable stores sell those
