Hey I was thinking of overclocking my CPU for the first time for the extra performance and just for experience I guess lol.  So my system is an

i52500k at stock speeds on an Asus Maxiumus IV board and the CPU cooler is an h100i with a gtx 570 for the graphics card. 16gb corsair ram and powered by an Corsair AX760 psu.

So my question is can my power supply handle an overclock say up to 4Ghz and most importantly is overclocking using the Asus Bios hard for a beginner like me ? I just don't want to cause an damage to my system or anything like that.

Cheers.

That PSU is very good and will handle it easily. The Asus bios is very easy to work with. Just make the core multiplier higher and you're pretty much golden. Especially if you're only going to 4 Ghz

That PSU will handle it with ease also the 2500K's usually run super cool not to mention your using a h100i so if you really wanted to you could get 5Ghz if you have a good piece of silicon.

Well the 4ghz was only a suggestion for starting off and then see if I could push it up to 4.5 lol

Sandy Bridge overclocks much higher than any other generation after it - on average. With that in mind, take a look at the overclock in my signature and then understand how high your CPU could OC.
