Hello everyone!!

So I have literally 0 experience on NAS, I have about 9 terabytes of photos/videos that I want to keep safe and get rid of the pesky hard drives into something more long term and accessible from a windows pc, mac, ios ,android, chromebook and tv. All of my family members need to have access for uploading/viewing (TV just for viewing, when we have family over to look at photos). What would I need? I know that it would need an ethernet connection but what software and hardware would I need? And setting it up to the RAID format incase one drive fails.

Thank you and if I am missing something please let me know, I am very much a noob at things like this!

Thank you !! 😄

If you don't want the bother of running and maintaining a build-it-yourself server, get a turn-key appliance like a Synology or UGREEN NASync. Get at least four bays, fill it with at least 12 TB hard drives, and set up a "RAID 10" to give yourself 24 TB of usable space.

Then you can retire your existing drives to strictly offline backup duty, because RAID is not a backup.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Thank you for your help! Can it be accessed from mobile devices both samsung and ios? And how would I go about accessing it from a tv?
