My wife works for a company that deals with medical records and calling insurance companies to yell at them to pay their bills and argue medical necessity for coverage when they refuse to do it. Pretty cool and all but we have come to a problem with the home setup. She doesnt want to sit in our pc room all day because it gets warm and our toddler still needs attention so she is set up in the living room. The big issue is when the kiddo wants attention and starts crying while wifey is on the phone. We are trying to find a solution so her work computer can be in the pc room but she can work out in the living room with us unless she needs to make a call and can go into the pc room for privacy. Her work involves a lot of HIPAA sensitive stuff so remote desktop to it is out of the question. She is also using 3 monitors over display ports from the little nook like pc. I was looking at kvm switches but most I could find were dual hdmi displays or two pcs sharing periferals wich don't help. Any advice would be great. I am a bit of an amateur when it comes to this kinda stuff and am doing my best to support her and make her life easier, if I forgot any important details or if this is the wrong spot for this post I apologize.

You could .... maybe...

Use a display port to hdmi cable and then a hdmi splitter... then buy... some sort of wireless keyboard and mouse with great range, It's a hard thing to try and work out as the distance I'm unsure of and i caveat this with maybe because it's a janky hairbrained scheme by myself.

. I think some of the issues here are :

  1. are you trying to make 3 screens run on one TV in like a PIP mode or such?
  2. are you using wireless keyboard mouse or wired?
  3. sounds like lots of cabling on the floor between the two rooms ?
  4. is the PC provider by her work ?
  5. RDP Is out.... why though because it's within your LAN... You wouldn't be exposing RDP to the internet... it's a viable option unless it's a work provided device that's completely locked down.
