Question about making new pc

 sorry if this is the wrong section to ask this, So my bf is buying the parts to make me a pc since we only have one rn, we were wondering if we can just copy windows from one pc onto the other. Ive tried looking stuff up about it and i see that technically you can copy it but it wont work or something because only having one license? if i am understanding that correctly, im not tech savvy so i thought id ask here, im assuming we will need to buy a new copy of windows, but just wanted to make sure there was no other way first. thanks for the help ahead of time.

Use MAS to activate a normal downloaded copy of windows you get from the microsoft website.

 

You can clone windows yes but on a new pc it is best to start fresh.

 

You do that by having a 8gb or larger usb stick be turned into a bootable windows installer. This uou can do by using the microsoft media creation tool for windows 11 from the microsoft website.

Thank you, but i did make a mistake in what i wrote, it seems we have the boot key type of windows? (its how my bf said it) so i dont know if that changes anything with your answer but just thought id write it just incase

Do you mean that it activates windowz automatically when you install it or do you mean it asks for a key when installing it? (Can just ignore that btw)

 

Or somethinh else?
