Laptop recommendations

I'm considering replacing my old xps 13 with an 8th gen i7 cpu which is currently running pop os.

I'm considering a MacBook air (m4 when it comes out) purely for the battery life but when looking at macbook air prices the voice in my head says to also look at gaming laptops. I don't currently own a gaming computer and the last time I built one was when the 980ti first came out so I figured I might as well try and get back into PC gaming if I'm spending some money.

 

What gaming laptop would would you recommend for around 1500$ cad?
