gtx 1070/1080/TI for around 100e but i dont want something that doesnt have DLSS, maybe im wrong about this since im only playing in 1080p so please correct me if i dont need it otherwise i planned on buying a new PC in around 2 years

These cards should still be good to play at 1080p. DLSS is great but it shines the most at 4K. It helps moderately at 1440p but the effect is marginal at 1080p in my experience.

Windows 10 64 bit

CPU: i7 4790
GPU: RX580

PSU: 600W
Motherboard: Old intel one that doesnt have a lot to customize in BIOS
Memory: DDR3 16GB 1600MHZ

AMD Drivers Version: 24.9.1 (latest)

I got this problem that when i play a game like Dragon Ball Sparking Zero my fans go spinning like crazy which is i guess to cool off the system but sometimes when i play a game even on Roblox it seems that my drivers crash, fans spin like crazy, i go to device manager and i dont see RX580 in display adapters and i gotta unplug my PC from the electricity and plug it in again otherwise i wont be able to play anything or watch anything, this has been going on for couple months and im not sure if its because of drivers or GPU, i have a 2 friends that face same issues and have same GPU but i have another friend who has ryzen 5 5600G and also RX580, 16gb 1 stick DDR4 (2133MHZ), 600W and this doesnt happen to him so i was wondering if anybody has an idea and if anybody has any questions i will do my best to answer them. Thank you.

It is usually due to a problem with the AMD drivers or some Windows update.

One easy thing you can try is to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to erase your current drivers and then reinstall the official drivers.

Reinstalling Windows may help but I'm not sure it is worth the trouble at this point.

Good luck !

Yeah i got high suspicions that its AMD drivers but its not happening to my friend who has the same, i got AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, is that not official?
I did reinstall Windows multiple times because of some other troubles i was having but its still happening.
Thank you

When was the last time you took that card about and repasted it?

You didn't specify the model, but I have had issues like this before where the temp was getting to high to sustain even a factory overclock on a card

If someone has helped you out on the forum don't forget to give them a reaction to say thank you!

Please put as much effort into your question as you expect me to put into answering it.

We can rule out corrupted files if you reinstalled Windows multiples times already.

I seen similar issues with Nvidia cards that newest drivers suddently end support for older cards. The workaround was to download old drivers.

For AMD, you can find older RX580 drivers on this website : https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/previous-drivers.html/graphics/radeon-600-500-400/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-580.html

Since the RX580 is an older design, the drivers probably saw near zero improvement in the last 4 years or so. So, feel free to use 2020 drivers if needed.

As for AMD adrenalin, it is possible that it would not like using an older driver. If you have the option to install the AMD driver without Adrenalin, maybe you should do so. You can always use MSI afterburner if you need to tweak your GPU parameters.

As for the 5600G not having the issue ; well, Windows works in mysterious ways... My best guess is that processor having an AMD iGPU, it can somehow mediate any hiccups the rx580 has with the drivers. But that's just a guess.

Good luck !

I remember back in late 2021 i didnt have these issues and i didnt have them when playing a game like roblox in 2022 but games like God Of War or Spider Man Remastered i did have them if i turned on my graphics too high probably because of my fans trying their best to cool of the system so i will try to download drivers from 2020-2021 and re paste the GPU.
Thank you.

Edit: I downloaded driver from 2021 so we will see what happens

Edit 2: Still crashing, im gonna re paste it and try with 2021 drivers if not then im gonna try with 2020 drivers and if everything fails i guess a good idea would be to get a intel gpu or nvidia one

If you can afford it, the new Intel b580 seems to be an awesome deal at MSRP. (beware of scalpers). It leaves the 4060 in the dust and has 12 GB of VRAM.

For your AMD card, you can try lowering the power limit (in AMD software or MSI afterburner) to mitigate overheat problems. I think the rx580 allows up to -30% (or 70%) power settings. Performance will drop a bit but it beats crashing.

Have a nice day !

These cards should still be good to play at 1080p. DLSS is great but it shines the most at 4K. It helps moderately at 1440p but the effect is marginal at 1080p in my experience.

I see, thank you very much for your help, i decided im gonna buy a whole new PC in around 8 months with DDR4 and if prices drop by a lot then its a small chance for DDR5 since there are a lot of mew things coming
