I've just upgraded my 1660 super to a 6750xt but it seems to look and run worse. My computer on the whole feels slower and ive been having game crashes unlike usual. I booted up phasmphobia and the game looked a lot worse with frame drops. My display also seems either too flat or too dark due to pixel formats and theres no inbetween. Ive used DDU twice to delete old drivers. Im honestly considering going back to my old 1660 super does anyone have any tips?

Do a fresh Windows install.  DDU may not be getting everything.

In no way should anything be worse with a 6750XT.

I am running a 6750xt with an ryzen 7, 7800X3D.

For the longes time, I was only getting 75fps with World of Warcraft and I just figured that was it considering the monitor I have is 75Hz.  Several days ago I went thru everything I could think of and a few things I didn't think of, one of them being the Gigabyte Control Center.  I was using it (GCC) since the GPU is a Gigabyte card.  I am now using the AMD Adrenaline software to keep watch on everything.

Ever since doing that, my FPS has gone from 75 FPS in World of Warcraft to 350 FPS.  It's unreal, things have greatly improved.

I'm just saying, that if I can do it, then anyone can do it.  Keep trying and don't give up, it might take a while to figure it out but keep your hopes up and don't give up.

Take care and good luck.

it just feels like with my 1660 i never even really looked into my drivers or messed with settings everything just worked and now i feel like ive been pushed into the deep end having to do a bunch of troubleshooting when id rather it be plug and play (i may sound stupid but its just stresses me out like theres money on the line i dont wanna mess it up)

That's why it is nice to have a small SSD laying around. 128GB is already large enough for a temporary windows install.

@yellort For troubleshooting: Go into BIOS and reduce the PCIE-link speed from PCIE 4.0 to PCIE 3.0

The Declaration of Independence, once the charter of democracy, begins by saying that certain things are self-evident. If we were to trace the history of the American mind from Thomas Jefferson to William James, we should find that fewer and fewer things were self-evident, until at last hardly anything is self-evident. You can't mess it up.  It's just the fact you went from one major maker to another.

You go with a clean install, and everything is added for which it needs to.

Happens to all of us, take solace in that.  I ALWAYS fresh install with any serious change.

i found that there were leftover nvidia drivers which ive now uninstalled. my system feels more stable but i still see no performance difference. should i just tweak settings or would a fresh install still be worth it? by fresh install do you mean removing everything off my ssd?

By fresh install I mean using a USB stick to install Windows, formatting the drive or partition where it was before

This removes all drivers so that you start from zero again.  Installing the correct drivers to able applied without conflict.

But when you see no benefit... Are you measuring?  What fps are you getting now?  What settings?  What games?

You should see much higher frame rates, but only if you're not artificially capping them with sync or monitor rate.

Like with a car, if you cap a speed limit, the Corvette won't be faster than a civic.

Need to crank settings and uncap it.

I didn't fresh install because i got rid of leftover nvidia drivers in the end. I think im happy with performance. I tested silent hill 2 and got a consistent 60fps on custom medium and high settings and it looks way better than before and my gpus running at 50°C rather than my 1660s 80°C. I'm happy with 60fps for a singlepayer game. I think theres some bottleneck because of my cpu (ryxen 5 5600X) would that be true? thanks for the help tho
