Country: US

Games: KCD2, Arma 3, Star Citizen, etc.

Other details:

Currently looking at an upgrade to my CPU to the 7800X3D, found for $480(Let me know if y'all have any better prices somewhere that is currently available), but not sure if the 9800X3D would be worth waiting for the prices to come down. I'm not concerned about upgrading my GPU, at least for awhile. Primarily doing this for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 ultra settings ability according to what they released, but also to get something more in line with my GPU. Also looking for new ram rec's as I made the mistake a bit back with ordering some I can't OC.

Everything is currently owned and running minus the CPU, which is currently a 7600x, please let me know if y'all see any glaring issues with it, and what thoughts are around maybe waiting for a 9800X3D, or waiting on prices maybe?

I'm currently leaning towards the 7800 simply due to its been out for a bit longer now and support is there for it to my understanding, but not opposed to waiting out a 9800.

If you have the 7600X, I wouldn't spend $480 for a 7800X3D at all.  $300?  Sure.

I'd wait for the 9800X3D.

i wont upgrade at all, unless you found the deal of the century (which you did not) its not a good idea to upgrade your cpu because A) you wont notice any visible performance difference in at least the next 3 years between the 7600x and 7800x3d. B) you can fuck something up like your motherboard for 0 effective perf difference. C) you would be wasting money that is better spent on something like better ram, gpu, storage, etc, or even getting other games or things outside of gaming.

while i won't deny there is a non-insignificant difference in the performance in comparison, i don't think it will be that noticeable or worth upgrading. you will notice the difference if you get a 9800x3d but anything below that is just not worth upgrading to, so just wait until you can get one of those for a reasonable amount.
