I'm curious if anybody shares this opinion. I love Linus' shit because he doesn't leach or make money off of other people's intellectual property without the express desire for that intellectual property to be promoted. Content creators are a dime a dozen and far far more than just half of them are not innovative creative or creating in any way. They are doing the other key worker criticizing and criticizing doesn't necessarily mean something negative.

Francis Linus is a critic of promoted products things that people want to sell be reviews and gives his honest opinion if you ask me. Is he a showman, yes and one of the best. Is he making money off of other people's products technically, yeah kind of. But are those products or is that original whatever something that the person who made it is not asking for Linus to help. I'm sorry but that's what you are if you're a sponsor of a YouTube show you are asking a YouTube show help me please help me. I want to sell more of this product and I want you to help me and I won't be able to sell it as well without you.

In contrast to the idea of selling sponsored stuff while there are such things as commercials for TV shows and movies yes of course, That's what they pay for. Like an inventor or a developer for product designer would contact Linus to say hey we want you to showcase this. And Linus' impecable integrity would be his guide. And while I do absolutely disagree with the idea of selling merch I don't necessarily understand why I do. I think it's a little crass in beneath him, But I don't understand this business and that's what I'm writing this for. Maybe it's dependent on that or maybe that's just how they end up in mansions and expanding businesses to be able to accommodate more jobs I don't know. The thing that I disagree with are the people who create channels while they're just doing nothing but evaluating people's products as a criticism of artistry is what I would call it versus production. LTT criticizes production at request of the developers. Hundreds if not thousands of channels criticize TV shows and movies and while some of them do it with absolutely great intentions there's still in a position where I don't know if these are making money off of the content other people created without the content creators giving permission I mean anybody can make a YouTube channel and go ahead and evaluate a TV show and if they're good enough make some money off of it right? But if the TV shows writers are developers directors whatever have a problem with that they can absolutely claim copyright for something like that in which case all you have to do is the YouTube star is fudge a couple of rules a couple of details blur something here replace a picture there type something odd and you can get away with it.

Linus is a gold star versus a sea of leeches if you ask me. And I'm just wondering if anybody else thinks that at all because the more and more I watch YouTube and even though I do enjoy the content it's nice to see little details that I missed but then again I've always been the type who is so focused on the narrative of the story that I don't really pay attention to much about one flash of a scene where for instance an Easter egg is equivalent to a flash of Tyler Durden in fight club. Looking back you go oh that's cool and then you move on and yet people make money off of this pointing these things out. Video games movies they all get exploited even though they're not created or intended to be criticized in this way but is that a subliminal way of supporting these channels like why would you put an Easter egg in anything if you weren't hoping somebody would notice it well maybe you're just thinking to yourself as the developer writer stage production whatever you know I really like this part I'm going to go ahead and put an emphasis on it in the next season just because I think it's cool.

Or is it a situation where people are literally on a production set and they are taking something from season 1 going in putting it in a set for season 2 or any variation of those words you know, "you know if we put this here we'll get so many different channels from YouTube to start reviewing it and it's not like nobody knows that there's a last of Us season 2 coming out anyways we need to have YouTube to promote it.

And if you haven't gotten my actual point here yet it's basically people who create art are different than people who create products products need promotion art if it's good or if it has a fan even one will draw in the rest. I don't think YouTube can count as word of mouth. And I don't think it should. A story is told for yourself for your own personal way that you take it in just the exact same way that a product that you buy you buy because it's right for you. The only difference is that stories are interpreted products are not.

Well Linus has played games and had content I've never really seen him review a video game to point out its pros and cons with that specific intention. I've seen a couple of occasional videos where he almost treads on that line but I don't think that he's in any way somebody who exploits. Which makes him far above and beyond the pack of YouTube stars to make their money off of other people without creating a single thing just noticing shit and evaluating it with no real purpose.

Linus. Keep it up. Right up. Thank you!

Ignore strange mistakes in my words. I sound like Teal'c from Stargate SG-1, and voice recognition discriminates with hate the deeply resonated speaker. Lol
