For various reasons I'm building or have built 5 PC's from November through the end of the year.  All of them are AMD

First was one of my longest term buddies had another PC I built for him not to long ago crap out, so I tore apart my Alienware machine after determining the core of it was bricked and built him a very nice AM4 + a770 machine.  Second is an AM4 budget build for the same buddies sister's kid, 4500 + a380  Third and fourth will be my parents new core components.   AM5 entry level cpu/mb/ram/ssd, I didn't tell them that I could make their machines work on windows 11 because they would have ran their current machines until they were non-functional.  My dad's is out of ram and my mom's is out of ssd.  Both of them stay on 24/7 and rarely get updates.  I figured that instead of saying "I don't want to work on the POS' anymore" I'd tell them that in October of next year their computers won't receive updates. This way I can get them up to date and on the exact same hardware.  Fifth will be my gaming machine which I have been pondering all year, triggered by the impending release of GTA6 next year I decided that 5 years was long enough for this AM4 platform.  I'm getting myself a 9900x and 7900xtx and all of the hardware is in the mail.  The recent "buy now or wait" video done by Linus is what caused me to make the choice to get the cpu and gpu now rather than wait on potentially better products.  Scalpers, supply shortages, crypto, tariff's and outright scamming money out of the wallet by the OEM's themselves lead me to buy on black friday.

Now the reason that all of the machines I've built are AMD.  It's simple really and for only one reason, platform support.  They have supported AM4 for so freaking long that I can still buy brand new cpu's for it, whether that's for a budget machine or upgrading my 5yo gaming system..... I can NOT ignore this service to the community.  For at least 5 years I have been able to swap components from one machine to another with virtually no problems.  My components aren't useless because the mb is outdated and impossible to replace....  I just can't convey how much of a quality of life this has been for me as I manage several peoples computers and built all of them as well.  I want everyone on a trustworthy consumer platform because it's easier and cheaper on myself.

One quick example, the intel system that I just replaced with an AM4 system was completely salvageable..... however a new motherboard, bottom basement bargain was $200 and while it would have been cheaper and easier to just buy that new mb, I simply refuse to when I can purchase an AM4 mb for $100 and put that other $100 into something else.  Yes it cost me more to do this..... but the machine is far better for it and the time before I need to build him another one will be much longer.  AMD thank you for saving the day.

Audio go Brrrrrr
