Home Server

Go to solution Solved by igormp,

I'd say you don't need any GPU. In case you don't have any other GPU lying around (be it from your main system or not), you could just install the system from another system (like plugging the SSD/HDD into another device), and then just plug the disk into your 1700x with SSH setup and whatnot.

Budget (including currency): 20€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Hosting Minecraft Servers, Cloud Storage

Currently I’m planning to build a home server with a old 1700x. I will be using it to host Minecraft Servers and Cloud Storage…

However I will need some kind of gpu to get a video output when setting up the server, since the 1700x does not have build in graphics…

I’m planning to pick up some cheap and used gpu for around 20€.

Do you guys have any recommendations for this kind of gpu? Any specs I should look out for or things I should avoid?

I just want to hear other opinions…

thanks in advance!
