I am extremely new to building and upgrading PCs, I currently have a AMD 7 5700x and I bought a AMD 7 5700XD, I don’t know if there’s anything I need to do after installing the new CPU like updating my bios or drivers or anything, I don’t know if it’s plug and play or what, can someone let me know what I have to do once I’ve installed the 7 5700XD and how to do it? If so that would be great.

checking your bios version is compatible (before upgrading) or simply updating to the latest version should do

How do I update my bios, do I need a flash drive or anything or do I just boot up and it will give me the option to update?

You get the newest Bios from the motherboard support page.

At the same time get the manual which should be close.

And follow the update instructions.

If you can't find we can help but we need to know which mobo (also try to find your current bios version with CPU-Z for example)

I'm willing to swim against the current.
