Hi, first of all my english is not perfect, so sorry in advance.

My parents bought a new outdoor security camera for theyr house.
It's a "7link zx-5128-675"

It's this one, you can baerely find anything online about it..

It works but not all functions are working and it seems pretty slow.

You need an app which I already forgot the name of it.. And it only has like 1 star reviews,

In the App you can move/rotate the camera manually on the touchscreen, sometimes it works directly and sometimes it needs like 10 seconds until it starts moving, it's like lagging or bad internet connection it seems like. And there are some option like, if a person is detected it should follow the person with it's movement. And like a patrol mode... None of these options are working. Nothing activates when you click on the buttons, it's like the buttons don't even exist. The camera gives alarm (on the phone) when someone is detected, but like I said the other options doesn't work, and that's why they bought this new camera. The old one was "non movable" camera, so it was just pointed at the entery door.

I went to my parents house yesterday and resettet the whole thing and connected it with LAN cable directly to the internet router, but nothing worked, still the same. Or maybe I didn't make the reset correctly, which I doubt but you never know.

Anyone have a solution? Should we return it? My mom will probably call the company next week if it's still not working correctly.

Thanks

I would look for something that can send it's feed back to a "server" running something BlueIris (never used, but just an example).  While you would not keep the built in functionality of the app, the camera does say it supports ONVIF, so it can send a feed back to a system for recording and processing.  Of course, this may be more tricky to setup for anything other than local access to the feeds depending on what server software you pick, but I'm partial to not having my video feeds sent outside for processing (though I do put up with Unifi for two of my cameras).

But I'm just talking out my ass.
