Honestly... I feel like now is a pretty terrible time to buy, but if you need to, then you need to. Waiting until January for the 9950X3D to be released, would be a good shout. Not to mention the rumour is an RTX 5000 release in January too..

Which gives you the option of buying the latest and greatest, or, buying your current hardware list but at a reduced price

Hello... I looked over your projected Parts List and I can't see how all those Parts are going to be under $3,500. Hopefully some Pricing for Black Friday / Cyber Monday hasn't kicked in yet on PCPartPicker but I got it as close to your Budget as I could. Also having a Micro Center near you could help a TON!!!

2 Parts I really want to mention that I switched out for you is the Motherboard, the B550 Gigabyte Eagle AX is really Awesome. Also the RAM I picked has the right Timings for all AM5 CPUs. It should be 6000MHz CL30. In that high amount of RAM (128GB) it was a bit hard to find but I did.

I switched some things around for better Pricing and Performance.

Have a Look and let me know what you think. Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I can be reached much faster on Discord: Wizardsnapper#2772 as I have this open 24/7.

I'd tend to agree with this, as we are expecting some potentially impactful launches in the next month and a half, provided your current rig is useable until then.

My big question is what the 7950X3D is for. For Arnold and C4D, are you primarily doing CPU or GPU rendering? If it's CPU, unless you really value gaming performance (and are willing to put in a bit of extra work to resolve the wonkiness with that CPU in many games), a 7950X for ~$150-200 less or a 9950X for about the same price will both be better performance in the professional applications.

Otherwise, everything looks fine to me—I wish we could do 2x64 GB RAM, but that's not really a thing right now, and you can't optimize over a 4090 for those workflows (at least until we get a 50 series). You could possibly save a bit of money by going with an air cooler, which is generally fine with the Ryzen desktop parts, but the Arctic AIO is good and not that much more expensive.

Oh no! Now you made me question my life choices.
You made very good points. Thank you.
The imminent arrival of Black Friday makes me lean toward buying now.

What about the parts, do you see some possible optimization or conflicts?

You need to quote people on the forum, otherwise we don't know when you reply to us

I don't see any glaring issues with the build

Although the OP could consider if 96GB 2x48GB ddr5 could work for them. Then at least you aren't fighting with the IMC. But that 100% depends on just how big their projects are.

A Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE is an amazing value cooler in my experience. Can usually be grabbed for 35-40 bucks if you shop around and it will cool it just fine. Or if they want a big thermal headroom a Dark Rock Pro 4 or 5 would be amazing coolers, but they wouldn't offer savings quite as big.

Also, air coolers are more reliable, and if you need it for work, that is the way I would go

Why the 7950X3D if you are not gaming? Would the 9950X or 7950X not be more appropriate for the described use case?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
