Budget (including currency): GBP £1200 Of course, if I can spend less and still function as I want it will be better.

Country: England

Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: It will mainly be used to run Adobe programs such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Lightroom, etc. I will also want to use it to play games such as call of duty, Minecraft, Elden ring and some others.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

  • Existing parts list: this is what I have chosen for now

    • CPU: Intel Core i7-13700F
    • GPU: Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 12GB
    • Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z790-H GAMING WIFI
    • RAM: ADATA XPG Lancer Blade 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
    • Storage: Western Digital Black SN770 1TB NVMe SSD
    • Case: CiT RAIDER RGB ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased)
    • PSU: Antec NeoECO Gold 650W Fully Modular PSU

I'm happy to hear any feedback or suggestions for better options or places to save money. I have only purchased the case so far.

  • Resolution and refresh rate: The main purpose is so that it can run all the Adobe Creative Cloud apps comfortably so whatever is good for that. For gaming, also not sure what resolution and refresh rate are good enough.

  • Peripherals: I already have a keyboard and mouse, but I will need a monitor.

  • Timeline: I plan to buy within the next 6 weeks, but I am willing to wait for deals if it makes a significant difference.

This will be my first build, so I’d appreciate advice on compatibility, build tips, or anything I should consider.

Hi, sorry, seems youve been left in the dust, let me help.

Resolution and refresh rate

That would depend on what type of monitor you'd like.

As a rule of thumb, 24" is 1080, and every 3 inches you go up in resolution.

So 27" 30"(usually its 34) is 4k and anything more looks less sharp.

Would you need more vertical or horizontal space on your monitor?

If you need horizontal, get an ultrawide monitor. If you need vertical, get a 16:10 monitor.

Refresh rate wise, 165 is about standard.

Also, how important is colour accuracy? If it's important, I'd say you're looking at either a very good IPS or an OLED.

Realistically,  I'd suggest just looking up benchmarks for your apps, see how they do with different cpus and gpus.

Now, i didn't include a monitor, and If I did that'd probably make me get a 4070 normal, or a 7600, which would probably hurt cause your apps would benefit from more cores and a better gpu.

Thanks for the reply, after a bit of searching around and asking in other places I think I've settled on this:
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/qcypGJ

From what I know adobe apps, or at least Photoshop, works better with an Intel CPU.
if you find any issues or something I can improve in that feel free to lmk.

Well, i dunno about Intel or amd cpu's for adobe, let's wait for someone more knowledgeable.

But for now:

few changes:

4070S. While 7900xt is a great card and better, AMD isnt liked by adobe because no cuda cores, so here we are.

Changed the ream to cl30 6000,

I also changed the motherboard to ATX, since you have an atx case.

Case is ultimately your choice, but as I was editing the list the case you had was unavailable, so I picked the next best one I could fit.
