Almost definitely not, there was 7 years between the ps3 and ps4, 7 years between the ps4 and ps5, were creeping up on the ps5 being released 4 years ago. I think itll be later than 2026, probably late 2027 or possibly even 28

Another issue is having the ability to cram so much new technology into such a small space, not even the console but the cpu/gpu dies. AMD's APUs have advanced quite a significant margin recently but still have a little further to go for an entirely new gen of consoles, with heat management, gpu power of the APU, and then once those are developed and created, the next gen of consoles need worked on beyond that, so it will be a little longer than 2 years from what I can see

System specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX NITRO+

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Case: 5000D AIRFLOW

Cooler: Thermalright Frost Commander 140

PSU: Corsair RM850e

Case Fans: Fractal Prisma (120 x6, 140 x3) + 2x40mm fans

The current gen of consoles are running off AMDs RDNA2 infrastructure, in my own opinion, the next gen will probably end up running on RDNA4 as it is

1. more advanced than RDNA3 but 2. also geared towards a mid range consumer market as opposed to enthusiast tier. Which fits perfectly in line with consoles' target audience. Therefore i think console manufacturers will wait for APU's with at least RDNA4 to be created for their next generation, which we havent even seen full GPUs with this architecture yet. Beyond this, console manufacturers will need to design the console, or at least some of it, around these APUs, and with them being unreleased yet, and not even something on a roadmap, itll be a while before we see the next generation of consoles based around these.

Now this is purely speculation on my part as AMD might not even bring out APUs with RDNA4, but i reckon, going mid tier for the next generation of gpus and leading into the console market with that tier is a great option for AMD

I believe its Q1 2025, and knowing Nvidia and gpu releases, probably a gradual release, possibly even leading into Q2 2025 for the later card releases. The refreshes (Super variants) and Ti variants will more than likely come later again somewhere in the Q2-Q4 range

Probably not, im running a 7900xtx or 4080S equivalent and a very high end version to boot, plus im only running 1440p so its plenty for my use case for the forseeable future
