Here's what my USB 3.0 header looks like. The pins look OK, but the plastic part is still stuck on the plug. How can I get that plastic piece off? The USB 3.0 header should look like the photo above. ☝️Even if I can't use that header, is it possible to put the plastic peice back on? Thanks for the help!!Untitled.thumb.jpg.c86c35f7edcd761686066e130154e7df.jpgimage.thumb.jpeg.790a825c11d1be4f397f666531a57aee.jpeg

I tried to remove a USB 3.0 plug and the header was still attached to the plug. I’ve never even had a chance to use the the motherboard (Model X670E Taichi). I know this could happen, so as I tried to slowly wigglethe plug out, out came the whole header!! 😲 There is another header I could use and I am working on a RMA. I just don't like having a broken header with pins that are not usable. Is there Anything I do if a RMA was not possible?

Thank You.

Did the metal pins come off the motherboard somehow, or just the plastic part?

If it was just the plastic shell, you should be able to shove it back onto the pins. Look up a photo of your motherboard to make sure you don't accidentally put it back upside-down (rotated 180 degrees). It's only there to key the connector, as long as you plug into the header the right way around you don't need it.

A screwdriver or pliers. It's just stuck there by friction.

The header is still perfectly usable, just make sure you get the plug facing the right way.
