Plex Audio Only Library issues.

I have a customer of mine that is having an interesting issue with there music library. They want to be able to listen to there music anywhere they want. I recommended plex to him and we have started putting the music on there. The issue that we are having is when we load the music onto plex app, 60% of the songs are not wanting to show up. I made sure that all songs are supported files for plex. I have run musicbrainz to cluster and made sure all songs are correct file names as well. I am hopping that someone can give me some help with this. I dont know if this maybe a PC issue and we need to build him a NAS just for this or maybe this is something someone else has dealt with. 

 

There are songs with with multiple formats but I have made sure that all songs are supported formats for Plex.

Have you refreshed the library?

Yes we have refreshed the library multiple times and still will not pick the songs up.

Yes, no stupid questions on this one lol. We have tried multiple things to get this to work. I have a feeling this is a PC issue more that a plex issue but I am unsure.

It happens to me a lot, but with videos. It's usually my fault for skipping over it and searching for it brings it right up.

 

Plex does have another app called "Plexamp" that is supposed to be better for music, but I haven't tried it. It works off the same media server so it shouldn't be a huge deal to try it out. Honestly the music and photo integration in the normal Plex player is very weak, so hopefully this amp thing is better.

Thank you! I will see about this. We have all of the songs just on the normal plex. It will be worth a shot for sure.

Any luck? I was curious too so I tried Plexamp and it seems better for music. I have a small library of music on Plex so it all worked for me. I have another 40+ GB to add, but the original app was so bad for music that I didn't even bother. This is giving me reason to add them.

 

To my surprise, Plex also has a dedicated app for photos. Both items I complained about with the main app lol
