something wrong with dowload speed

something is wrong with my download speed (but only in certain apps). In steam when i download a game it is just as fast as my internet speed. but when i download stuff in the browser or in epic games launcher for example i get about 300kB/s. This has me thinking it has something more to do with my m.2 ssd (corsair mp600 pro nh), but i really have no idea. Does someone know how to fix this problem?

What is the expected speed, and what results do you get from e.g. speedtest.net?

Open task manager, go into performance tab, then download.
Whichever is at 100% usage is the culprit. Otherwise, your browser and epic games has a bandwith limit, look in settings.

If the speed is fine through steam, it's definitely not going to be your m.2 ssd. Like @Eigenvektor asked, try speedtest.net and post the results. If that test comes back as expected, it's more than likely something else,such as a setting in epic or your browser.

 

On the topic of browsers, you can try other browsers too, maybe do a fresh install of firefox if you don't already have it, and try the speedtest.net test without any additional addons or extensions.
