Computer Keeps Crashing!

After a few weeks of installing my 6500xt, my computer has constantly began crashing early into a game such as fortnite. Im not sure why as I have tried every setting on the AMD software and adjusting graphics settings. I have uninstalled previous Nvidia drivers too. To no avail, my computer keeps crashing.

GPU: 6500xt

RAM: 32GB Corsair.

CPU: Intel i-7 10700F

PSU: CX750F (Bronze)

Windows 11

 

I'm sorry if I didn't give enough info abt my PC

(crashing): Black screen, full shut down, no warning.

Did you use DDU for removing the Nvidia drivers?

 

Honestly, I would do a full fresh Windows install anyway.  Fresh and clean rules out software.  Then we can look at hardware.

I did use DDU for removing my drivers.

Then you have one realistic option to clear any software bias.

 

Cuz something is not working well, and you have 3 pieces if we make the assumption everything worked fine before the 6500XT.

Fresh Windows install guarantees full removal of Nvidia Drivers, though we hope DDU did it.  But it also fixes any crosstalk, remnants, etc.

Ok well, the issue did occur roughly 2-4 weeks after the installation of my 6500xt so I would assume that the software may be an issue seen as it took a decent amount of time for the problem to finally arise...

Then retrace your steps.  What did you do, download, install etc between then?  Any new driver update?

Can you send code of crash ? it should be on left bottom side. Such as "attempted write to readonly memory" or "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal".

That might help us to find.

I retraced my files from roughly when the issue began and before that. nothing too major apart from citra (the emulator), a file for the emulator and avast antivirus scanner

Avast, not a fan.  I'd uninstall it, and see how she runs after.

 

I'd still fresh install Windows, to make sure everything from Avast is dead and gone.

I would offload them to a USB or Cloud, however you can store them.

 

100% fresh is how I would do it.

100% fresh is how I would do it.

I did a full reset and install of windows. I've found now that its a hardware issue.

Well it's narrowed down at least.

 

Are you going to RMA the 6500xt or is it something else to look at?

RMA? im not sure what that means. I do have a feeling its my power supply. It is bronze and i have owned for quite a few years (give or take 4-5). So I feel like the PSU may be needing replacing as it wasn't straight away after I installed my 6500xt that it happened, but rather weeks later.

Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).  Basically means return under warranty.  The 6500XT may still be under warranty.

 

Try a new PSU, and if you do get one that can handle an upgrade after the 6500XT.  PSU's (generally) have 10 year warranties.

I've found the issue to be the 6500xt itself. I am most likely gonna do the RMA for it.
