Content creation, gaming(1440p mostly fps and single player games), work(I work in sales and costumer service) and school

Then a 5900X or 5950X can make sense, it'll help content creation/work, and SP gaming at 1440P is usually GPU bound anyway

Hey guys new here just need some help and advice on an upgrade.

currently have a 5600X and a 2070 (will be upgrading to a 7800XT soon) just wondering if staying on AM4 is fine (I’ve been eyeing the 5900X because I’d like the extra cores) or should I upgrade to AM5

What are you playing/doing with the PC ? Which res ?

5900X will only help productivity/non gaming, for gaming close to nothing, there's the 5700X3D that's better in gaming

But even a 5700X3D only matches a 7600, so quite behind 7800X3D and 9800X3D even more (like 30%)

But if you're playing at high res the CPU does not matter as much

So it really depends of your use case...

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones
