Hey guys

I've got a pretty basic motherboard (Gigabyte H610M K DDR4) which only has one fan header and no ARGB header. I've tried really hard but i can't find a simple RGB (multicoloured) LED fan which doesn't need a header hooked up. I'm not looking for addressable RGB just something to light up my Antec case as its dark as hell in there right now haha.

Are there any good brands which aren't loud, support PWM and will stay in a simple RGB state even without a ARGB controller hooked up? I got one from china which is a simple 3 pin and because my BIOS runs silent fan control it slows the fan down and the LED's go dark haha so yeah... Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Win

3 pin speed changes uses DC speed regulation, less speed = less power to the fans = less current to the RGB

You can't get a RGB fan without controller without having RGB on the motherboard. Instead look for a fan with LED (same color all the time).

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: G.Skill Aegis 2x16gb 3200 @3600mhz | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Red Devil RX 7900XT | Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: MP510 960gb and 860 Evo 500gb | Cooling: CPU: Alphacool ST30 420mm rad, Alphacool CPU and GPU Core LT and Core blocks, D5 pump and res combo

This ^

Else you can use a controller not needing ARGB header, like Corsair Commander

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

Or... get a basic LED fan that has a controller button like the Lepa Copper Advance. Lepatek.com (Enermax) has others, and there are other brands if you need me to check my database. I recently reviewed one that was from Lamptron and had a really interesting pattern because of the blade design but I think it is RGB.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂
