Hi! I have an AM5 build, 7800X3d, 4080s, Gigabyte aorus elite ax ice, 2x16gb 6000 cl30 expo ram, corsair rm1000e.

I'm currently facing an issue where the PC boots most of the time from a cold boot, but if I restart it, it almost never boots back till I restart multiple times. I first thought expo is causing this as it was working fine with expo disabled, but this also happened to default settings in BIOS.

Order of things:

Restart PC -> BIOS Splash (Aorus loading) -> Loading gets stuck -> I hear windows loading and RGB in my PC getting set to the profiles -> screen goes black -> no Display signal.

I have to restart multiple times till it boots.

Also my expo 1 profile uses SoC 1.4v (its a preset so I assume its ok) Things I've tried:

  1. Setting SoC to 1.15 to 1.25

  2. Reseating CPU, GPU, RAM

  3. Looseing cooler up a bit

  4. Multiple Nvidia drivers

  5. Different BIOS, currently on latest F32e

And the only solution that works Setting my PCIex16 slot to forcibly run at Gen3. This has booted everytime, instantly.

Solutions, Ideas?

GPU RMA done, they said it's all good.

Planning to get Motherboard RMA done.

Thanks!

Latest motherboard Bios? Latest GPU bios/firmware? Latest monitor firmware (if it's upgradable)?

bootlooping also may be caused by a powerspike tripping your powersupply

try different powerline\boot with one stick ram and all mics stuff disconnected (even gpu if its possible)

Did, funny thing when I connect both motherboard and gpu video outputs, when it boots correctly it boots through GPU, when it fails ot boots through motherboard.

It worked fine for a week, then I rma'd the GPU tomorrow I'm sending the Board. 🙃

Gigabyte Aero

Check the area near the PCI-E slot on the card, both sides, look for hair thin fractures.

I suspected it was a Gigabyte card but I still hope it's not what I think the issue might be.

I ended up switching the motherboard to an AsRock Steel Legend. Fixed my issues. I don't understand what happened to the other board.

RM1000e, but anyway I ended up getting an as rock b650 steel legend. Fixed the issues, the gigabyte mobo rma said it was ok but I ended up asking for a refund. Found too many posts with similar issues and gigabyte 😕
