Cannot get 240 FPS

Riva Tuner limit?

By the way, the 5950XT isn't for high-refresh gaming. If you're mostly gaming, sell it and get a 5700X3D or 5800X3D.

Ryzen 5950X

32GB DDR4 Crucial RAM

RX 6800XT

Display is a brand new LG 27GR83Q, 240hz 1440p.

I HAD basically the same panel, but 144hz, and I had AMD set to global frame limit of 144fps.

I just reinstalled my graphics drivers, but I am stuck at 144 FPS in everything, even a fuzzy donut for a potato PC (basically trying to get more than 144fps, but it's still capping at 144).

Any idea what else could be limiting my FPS to only 144? It's disabled in Adrenaline. Does it in every game. I did reboot after installing GPU drivers, do I need to reboot after changing settings in Adrenaline for them to take effect?

Dang. You nailed it, thank you so much. I was losing my mind, I haven't even touched Rivatuner in years.

Funny you say that, there's literally a brand new 5800X3D sitting on my desk, waiting for when I'm not tired as balls, to install it (and the 5950X is going to replace a 3900XT in my Linux box, which means... I'm going to have another box soon with the 3900XT in it. o.x;)

Monitor your GPU usage. You'll get an urge to replace the 5950X asap... XD

Yeah, the 5950X was a compromise for gaming. I was doing a lot of video encoding using the CPU back when I got it, and it was really worth it, but now I'm not editing/encoding as much anymore. The 5950X will get swapped out for the 5800X3D pretty soon. I did use Process Lasso to minimize any issues from high thread count would have on gaming, but the heat it pumps out is a problem in the summer. I was running ECO mode with a CCX disabled and SMT off, and getting the exact same performance as both CCX's enabled and SMT on, and roughly the same amount of heat.
