CPU-Ryzen 9 3900x
GPU-RTX 3080 (ASUS TUF 12GB)

RAM- 2X8GB 3200

MOTHERBOARD - ASUS STRIX ROG B550-E

MONITOR - ASUS TUF 34 ULTRAWIDE 165HZ

POWER SUPPLY - RM850X

I am getting low fps in every game i touch, CPU usage is always at 20% and gpu doesn't go higher than 45%,All my drivers are up to date and i allowed my Gpu to use 107% of power

I run GPU-Z Perfcap and i get Pwr,Vrel and VOp.

I am on the verge of buy a R9 5900X as i see people playing rust on 150 fps with higher setting on the same resolution where as i get 60-80 fps at max.

If anyone got any suggestions whether is should go through with the 5900x or to seek something else.

Hi buddy,

Your GPU only hitting 45% is a potential issue as your GPU should be pegged at 99 or 100% assuming its properly optimised.

Have you tried running things like 3DMark or Furmark to make sure your GPU is able to sustain a full load without any issues.

Another few options to try:

1. Make sure BIOS is up-to-date

2. Dry DDUing the display drivers and reinstalling

3. A fresh install of Windows is a great way to rule out any software gremlins.

To rule out basics, check your Windows power settings to make sure you aren't running on laptop or energy savings mode.

We need a benchmark of some sorts to see how far off baseline you are.

Have you checked your thermals? It might be a longshot but if your cpu cooler isnt making good contact with the cpu, your processor might be overheating and unable to go past 20%...

Hi there i did some benchmarks and by gpu does go to 100% util and got a 9600 in the furkmark GL 1440p and was getting slightly better results then others that i saw on the internet,i also got 13200 on the GL 1080p.

Also forgot to mention that my ram usage is at 50% all the time even when startup and my bios if very outdated which might be the problem but idk whether there is a cpu bottle neck.
