I want to start a channel that will have a gaming section and I need a video editing software that will be able to capture screen video and audio. In addition I need to do something like Pewdiepie, where he adds himself in the corner. The video and audio of myself will be recorded in a separate camera and will be imported via an SD card to the computer. If anyone has watched Pewdiepie, you know what I am on about. It also must be free.

I am a member of the PCMasterRace. I am terribly sad to announce that I own a PeasantStation 3 Super Slim. it's in a drawer away from my glorious PC.

I know you said it must be free but i have not run in to any free software that is able to do that. If you can't find any free ones TechSmith's "Camtasia Studio" it is able to capture your screen and also another video input from a WebCam.

It is USD 299

Get camtasia. Good recording and editing software. You don't have to buy it, there are always "friends" you can get it from such as thepiratebay.

Pirating is a crime that everyone is not comfortable committing. Yah you are right he can pirate it but the software is worth the $299 if you use it regularly.

NOTE: I do not encourage/recommend pirating.

The channel will be hosted by two 15 year-olds that go to school. I see pirating as a nice option.

Camtasia does not capture game video. You need to use FRAPS for that. I personally use it and i strongly recommend you use it. It has a huge file size when compare to Camtasia though. XSplit is another option you might want to try.

Isn't Xsplit for streaming?

Just use Mirillis Action! game recorder, it does it without weighing your PC down and with such nice quality, and even has support for Intel's QuickSync(IvyBridge and above).

It never makes your PC lag while recording and some even say it's better than Fraps. I always make my montages with this.

It's only around $50.

Humpty Dumpty was pushed.

Ye it is, i have not used it for over a year but i believe you are able record offline. And you can set it up to the setting you want with your webcam/(other video capturing device) video included so their is no need for you to add it afterwards (i.e If your recording camera includes an output you can plug in to your PC). But it depends on what you want and what you have available.

You said SD card so i recommend you use Camtasia. I mentioned XSplit as an option for you if your camera can be directly connected to your PC.

Video editing software:

http://www.lwks.com/

Use Fraps to record video, though for that I think you need to pay, I tried to record video and it'd never work otherwise and would only record like 10 seconds.

You could use Shadowplay on a Nvidia card to record, however personally I find it unreliable as I've got three monitors and run most of my games in borderless windowed which doesn't allow shadowplay to work cause it's stupid.

Fraps in comparison to Shadowplay does effect performance though, whereas Shadowplay from what I've heard doesn't, so it's down to you if you want to use it or not, if you want to use it then I can let you log in using my credentials and you can download the 'member's version'.
