hi, my pc is running some demanding games some slow in some parts (not everytime and depends on the game but its still some slow/lag) and the temperature are higher than normal, here the temp is 17º today, we are in winter, for example when i play terminator resistance the max cpu temp i remember was 59, 44-56 normally; now it reach 69º, in battlefield v was 67º the max temp and around 54-63, now reachs 73 even 75 sometimes, resident evil 2 remake was 61º max, now is 66º, so i changed the thermal grease i use artic mx 4, it was dry but the problem wasnt fixed, i use asustek z97pro gamer i7 4790k gtx 750ti 2gb ssd 500gb wd blue sata, 3 hdds of 1 tb, case antryx x-200 and cooler master hyper h411R, i never had this problem before, last time i changed the artic mx 4 was in october 2022 so i changed it today so what could be the problem??

PD: i defragmented the ssd once, and the hdd 1 and 3 too, the ssd was defragmented last week and now the ssd games loads some faster, i know i must defrag ssd but some guys says it will help. defrag hdds make temperatures reach higher temps?

Those temperatures are still within safe limits and not dangerous at all 🙂

Nothing to worry about here.

Its more likely that you heard your graphics card buzzing, this is called Coilwhine.

It could come from the back of the CPU socket and this is not dangerous.

85c is also still within safe limits and should not be the reason for the computer slowing down.

85º safe wth, but since 71º the game/pc slows down

Yes. 71-75c is completely safe for the i7 4790k.

It can run without slowing down up to around 95c for short periods of time.

but the mobo can be damaged, and like i said, i want the problem fixed, want no more slow downs and lower the temps, weird i never changed the pc components, can be a virus?

No, the motherboard won't be damaged from your CPU running at 85c.

Have you cleaned your PC lately? Is it full of dust?

Try running windows antivirus scan and see if it detects anything?
