Budget (including currency): 7K USD $.

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly Unity programming (hence a Threadripper CPU), Music (DAW), FL Studio 2024, Studio One, games:
Satisfactory, VR Chat, Minecraft.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So i want to build a new system, my current rig as it stands is:

  • Ryzen 9 3900X (12 Core CPU)
  • G.SKILL TridentZ Neo 2x32GB DDR4 3200 (64GB Total)
  • MSI X570 Ace Max
  • MPG X360 Liquid AIO Cooler
  • 2x4TB NVMe Gen 5 Samsung SSD
  • Corsair 7000D Airflow edition
  • 1000w EVGA SuperNova Gold PSU
  • RTX 3070 Ti MSI Suprim
  • Monitors: Samsung 34" 100Hz, MSI Gaming monitor 165Hz, ProArt dispaly 32" 60Hz.

So my theoretical system build for 7K is:

  • Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW (Black)
  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7975WX
  • ASUS WRX80E-SAGE Pro WS SE
  • Seasonic USA Vertex 1200 Watt 80 Plus Platinum
  • TeamGroup T-Create Expert 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL30 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit CTCED532G6000HC30DC01 - Black
  • MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming X

CPU  CPU Cooler is undecided, as i have no idea what cooler to get for a 7975WX

Case is iffy, not sure if my motherboard choice would fit into the 7000D

RAM is iffy, don't need RGB on my RAM, just capacity and speed. (looking for anything below CL40) if applicable for Threadripper

Below is a screenshot i posted of compiling shaders in Unity 6 HDRP, lord help me with my 12core cpu haha.

any advice or system modification parts are welcomed!.

P.S. I heard Microcenter does hardware trade-in credits, hence why i added a RTX 4070 Ti

P.S. I have 1k USD from a friend im getting for selling my PC so (our budget is theoretically max 8K USD but should be below 7K all together (including taxes)

For such an expensive PC I wouldn't get a Corsair case. They've fallen off and a lot of hardware critics are now tearing into Corsair for cost cutting ever since it went public for investors. I'd look at case makers like Lian Li for quality or NZXT for innovation. NZXT's new H7 flow is really good.

DDR5 TR only works with RDIMMs, not UDIMMs.

Also, why are you going for a Pro TR if you'll only be populating 2 out of its 8 channels of memory?

Can't you just take a look at reducing some variants? This should speed things up a lot, if possible.

ill be populating the other DIMMs with RAM, just need a good kit or stick to get.

The way my game is built, with SRP, the variants are required or else i get a black world 🤣image.png.98a798c9abc1f61324d657bce0b433f1.png

As the person above me said, Corsair isn't something I'd think of when I hear "Threadripper", I'd suggest a Fractal Define 7 XL, they're a pretty well known pick for threadrippers.
Cooling wise, there's actually only a few select coolers you can choose from. https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/ecosystem/threadripper-cooling-solutions.html
There only appears to be 24 coolers in total that would be compatible with that Threadripper. From them, just pick any 360mm you like.
That is, if you plan for AIO cooling. Best case would ofcourse be a custom loop with 420mm rads. One for sure, but the case does support two, not sure if you could do both though.

H7 flow isn't an E-ATX case though.
NZXT does make H710 series which do support E-ATX motherboards, but author's motherboard choice wouldn't fit, case supports 10.7 inches max, motherboard's around 13 inches.

Are you using "strip unused" already? If so, ouch.

Nonetheless, look into RDIMM sticks, and do yourself a favor by looking at the QVL of the mobo and picking something from there.

ill look at the options then, if i did a custom loop, what parts would u recommend?

This should speed up your shader compile times by a lot.

Just to be sure, your RAM usage is ok during such compile jobs, right?

Well you have 2 options to be honest:
1. Let a pc builder do it(easiest, but more expensive).
2. Do all the research and build it yourself(hard, but is cheaper).

For parts, you will need tubing(soft, hard), pumps(shoots liquid through the tubes, cooling it in the process), a resevoir(to store liquids), blocks(GPU/VRM/CPU), radiators(cools the liquid flowing through) and fittings(secures tubes to everything previously mentioned).

Main companies for custom cooling include but not limited to:
Alphacool, Corsair, EK, Watercool.
Linus does have a water cooling guide if im not wrong, but again, there's a bunch of small variables, and you need to do a lot of research on the best cooling potential.

is it still safe to buy EKWB? after what happened recently?

I wouldn't go with a custom loop.

Sadly that motherboard doesn't make it easy to use one of the recommended air coolers by AMD, so the 360mm AIO options on that list would be preferrable IMO.

Man's got a big budget, I think a 360mm AIO is going to be good.
As long as he doesn't stuff it in a closet and let it fail...

Not sure bro, NZXT's own website says case supports EATX motherboards (no idea what the 277mm is reffering, also no conflicts on PCPP with X670E EATX boards). Maybe Threadripper has a different standard for EATX boards but if it did surely they wouldn't be called EATX then?

Digging further into this, you're right, but some people do report issues with having their sata ports covered. I know it's a small nitpick but, yeah, I guess it does work.
