In canada the cheapest 4070 is 700$ vs - 640$ 7800xt which is the better choice?

I would definitely get the 7800XT, it has a noticeably better performance, has more VRAM so it's more future proof, and costs less. It's obviously worse in ray tracing, but you won't be really using it with those cards anyway

7800XT if you want sufficient VRAM for high resolution or modding for a good number of years to come
