Budget (including currency): Unsure; really just tyring to get ideas since a lot fo my components are older comparatively.

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Honkai: Star Rail, Android emulation, Unity, Unreal Engine Dev Tools, Fortnite, CS2,

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently my system is below; I am looking to upgrade my board to its maximum supported capabilities. Considering I currently have a HD monitor I am also planning to upgrade it and feel that is likely the priority along with my speakers or given what I have would anyone even recommend upgrading most of it given what I do?

Is anything holding you back?

Anything specifically lacking performance?

Upgrading for upgrades sake is just wasting money.

If youbwant a new monitor and speakers sure why not. However can you list your speakers because audio gear doesnt really age and you may have some actual decent stuff already.

Hi,

The speakers are really old cn-0y9259 speakers. I didn't even realize they were made by dell... lol. They have been working fine for me but I have been told by people that audio capabilities have changed over the years. It sounds like based on what I am hearing here this isn't as much the case as the hype train tries to say. So it sounds like the monitor is the main priority as since everything else is working fine and the software development tools I use work just fine. SOme games have limited support for maximum settings but normal settings work just fine.

It also looks like from the other post I can only upgrade so far anyway unless I replace the board and probably given its age my case which at this point it works fine so I'd rather not do that until I have to. ChatGPT (as much as trusting AI is dumb) says my system should last a good five to ten years given my use case with some minor upgrades. Is this accurate?

The tech is basically 99% the same as like 50 years ago just that better stuff is available for less now thats the biggest change.

Like you can get a cheap creative pebble + subwoofe4 for 40$ and its OK. Go used and you can score some old but GREAT shit if you ant to run an amp + speakers and thats 100$ or less usually. Then you can get some new mackie 3's or the better 5's for 120$ new if you want that more. Want to go surround sound no sweat plenty old good shit is available.

Depending on rhe screen you get the 3060 may become constraining. The sweet spot for most people is a 1440p 27 inch monitor which is harder to drive than you current one due to being higher resolution. However it is nice to have a bigger screen and a lot of very good 300$ or less screens are availble here.

Haha dont trust chatgpt its full of bullshit anyway. Sure the rig will work in a decade most likely but performance wise probably wont be what you want.
