Im just asking here, i need to know if this build its okay for a home server or if you would change anything, and i need to pick a motherboard.

Budget (including currency): 400~€

Country: Spain

Hello everyone, I have been thinking about setting up a home server to host several things using the following:

  1. Proxmox: Virtualize machines for test things.

  2. Pterodactyl: To host games such as Minecraft, with or without mods, Project Zomboid or Rust, and if possible open a server to the public.

(NOTE: I have a 10Gbps connection and network card, i will only open the necessary ports)

  3. Plex: Stream some movies or series to my Chromecast TV.

(NOTE: I don't really watch many movies, what I care about most is server performance, and i want Plex because Jellyfin does not have HDR Tone mapping.)

  4. Basic Webserver (Nginx)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 5700G (Integrated graphics so i don't have to rely on a dedicated GPU, and it's more than enough to transcode plex and use it for the VMs)

  • RAM: Corsair LPX 32GB 3200 MHz (Already have it)

  • SSD: Samsung 980 1TB

  • MB: (I haven't decided on any yet.) Mini-ITX motherboards are very expensive, so Micro-ATX its okay

  • PSU: Seasonic CORE GM-650 (80 Plus Gold) (Already have it)
