Is intel i5 7400 still relevant? I want to upgrade pc, but should i upgrade my cpu? it's 4 core, 3GHz. For gaming purposes.

It depends what kind of gaming you do, it is perfectly fine for older games, but old 4 core/4 thread CPUs like this struggle badly with newer AAA games.

what're your full system specs/what will they be?

which games are you going to play?

what resolution will you be playing at?

Light esports games like Rocket league should run fine, older games will work great, newer AAA titles are a no as that no hyperthreading will hold it back a lot

not very.

It's an 8 year old 4c4t cpu that can't overclock.  it's super slow by modern standards.

12th gen E-Cores are faster than 7400 Cores.

List the games you want to play and full system specs. Most games from 2018 back should be fine, but your cpu may/will struggle with some of the new stuff.

I have one Lenovo desktop with this CPU, and Windows 10 Pro tells him not up-gradable to Windows 11...
