Hey,

Im planning on building a new Gaming/Office PC. it should be in the Ballpark of 2500$. I study Architecture and need as much power as I can afford, right now im looking into buying an RTX 4080 Super and either an Ryzen 9 7950X3D or an Ryzen 7 7800X3D. My Question is, should I go with the ASUS TUF Gaming X670E or the ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F ? im also open for any new recommendations, the only criterias are, at least a bit rgb, it should be black, ATX and it should be not more expensive than the other two.

Also, do you guys think, I should wait for the new Generation, AMD CPUs and Nvidia GPUs?

The main reason to get the higher model would be to have 4x M.2 slots. If you're comfortable with 3x then the B650E-F is fine.

CPUs, yes, since we're nearly there. GPUs, I suspect you'd have a much longer wait than the CPUs, so that's maybe not viable to wait that long.

If you're only doing college projects I think you'll find that you don't need anything that powerful, so if you can wait, I'd check what you're actually going to need when you start the course(s).

Right now Im using my MacBook Air M2, so I have a PC I can use, it's just annoying, that rendering takes so long. But do you think the new AMD CPUs are going to be better than the older X3Ds? Because I don't believe, that they are going to drop new X3Ds directly

X3Ds are not coming, but regardless, you might as well wait a week or two and see what happens to prices and if they're worth buying.

I have no idea how that performs relative to a PC, so hard to make any recommendations on what is best to get those times down.

If you need multicore power the 7950X3D makes sense

But if you're gaming at anything higher than 1080p a 7950X will be as good in gaming, and even at 1080p it's already very powerful, or else wait for the 9950X
