Question for H100i Mod

Maxiemax

hello i got a question about modding the h100i

1. what is the tube size that goes from the radiator to the cpu cooler
2. what is the radiator housing made out of
3. can i paint the fins on the radiator will it decrease performance or ??

i was thinking of doing white radiator housing and white tubing

for the tubing i would just get sleeves

that is all the questions i have about modding the h100i

Thank you

I would imagine painting the fins would decrease performance. If only because it would probably restrict the airflow through the rad.

1. It is apparently 14.3mm OD. I can't get an accurate measurement myself on the OD, but 14.3mm seems to be right.

2. It's some sort of metal, presumably steel. Keep in mind that it has indentations and such.

3. It will probably decrease performance a bit, but it should be negligible.

Looking forward to how it turns out, good luck.

Metal paint. You can find a lot of automotive paints that are used for this type of application (radiator/engine paints). My biggest concern would be painting the fins though, that would be a mess. But if you have a spare rad hanging around try it out and tell us how it goes :D

1a. the tubing is 1/4" (10mm) inner diameter, 1/2" (13mm) outer diameter.

2a. the radiator assembly is aluminum (metal)

3a. painting the fins will decrease the efficiency of the radiator.

heres my modded H100:

carbon wrapped the fan supports, painted blade assemblies white, added cf wrap to controller,

and accented the hold-down assembly in white as well..

performed just as it did when it was stock, just looks a lot better.
